You believe owning a business should give you more freedom. Freedom to work from Greece for a month or pop over to Joshua Tree for the weekend. Freedom to rewrite the rules of business with inclusive and ethical practices. Freedom to be you and do the work you do best.

So why does it seem like entrepreneurs never actually enjoy that kind of freedom? Why is everyone tied to their laptops instead of enjoying the sea in Santorini, scared of their inboxes instead of excited to hear from customers, and haunted—yes, I said haunted—by the specters of taxes and social media?

Because entrepreneurs are fed this idea that we have to do everything ourselves. We make hustling heroic and say success results from blood, sweat, and tears.

But the truth is, the result of overworking isn’t success; it’s subpar results for customers and burnout for your business dreams.

I’m here to change how we do entrepreneurship. It’s okay to ask for help. In fact, that is what’s heroic.

You want to make a positive impact on your local community and the world at large. So, we have to set your business up so it can sustain that level of growth while letting you thrive the whole time too.

That’s the purpose of support; that’s the power of operations.

I’m Emily Renda

I’m an inclusive operations strategist in every sense of the word. I believe in equity and inclusion, environmentalism, and anti-corporatism, and they’re at the core of why I run this business. My approach to the nitty-gritty of operations is inclusive too. I get to know you and your unique situation, then intuitively create an entire operations strategy that streamlines every part of your business, from finance to customer experience.

My clients consider themselves passionate trailblazers in their fields. They often work in evolving areas like the arts, mental health, food, and sustainability. More importantly, they prioritize ethical practices in running their businesses and have a strong sense of connection to their communities. If you’re in San Diego, chances are we’ve crossed paths at a coworking spot!

When we work together, I get to know who you are and use a mix of intuition and expertise to guide my recommendations. There are no “one size fits all” ops solutions here.

That’s also one of the reasons why you’ll discover I’m software-agnostic, meaning I’ll never force you into using one specific program, like Dubsado, for example. What works for one business model or learning style could stifle another. Instead, we’ll let your unique goals determine the tools we use.

So, let’s talk about how to give you more freedom with the power of operations. Which of these profiles suits you best?

About Emily Renda & Associates

Before we get to me, let me ask you a question…Have you ever felt like this?

I’m already so busy…

• making art

• meeting with clients

• developing products

…that I have no time to organize my meals, much less

organize my whole business!

Yes? Well, I’m happy to say that you’re in the right place.

Hold Up, Emily! Who are your so-called “associates?”

I thought that question might come up!

The truth is, it comes from a family joke! After years of working with the stationery company Mead (remember that name on your school pencils?), my grandpa started helping manufacturers make industry connections. Despite being a one-man show, he proudly called his new business “Carl Renda and Associates” to up his street cred, which led to a lot of teasing about his invisible colleagues back home.

So, while I like to shake up the status quo in business, there’s one piece of tradition I’m taking with me: Emily Renda & Associates is the natural name!
